About Me

I love mothering. I used to mother my little sister, I love having babies and mothering them myself, and I love mothering new mothers.

I have found my childbirth and postpartum experiences to be powerful, vulnerable, precious times, and I believe that women in modern American culture need more support in the process than they usually get. To me one of the best ways to address this need is to "mother the new mother"* within the context of her chosen medical care.

I am married to Superman. I have three beautiful daughters, all born naturally in a hospital, all in March! I love Jesus.

Professionally, my first career was as a software engineer, and I have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from Texas Tech University. My second career is raising my children at home, which I find challenging and most of the time more fun than the first career. My third career is to "help mama's have their babies".

I am fascinated by women, babies, bonding, the physiological process of childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery. I am interested in pursuing midwifery, but am loving my work as a doula and a mother-at-home.
