I truly believe that the most important quality to birth doula support is just being there, and establishing a personal connection with a mother and her partner, and I have successfully supported laboring women whom I had never met prior to walking into their hospital delivery room.

Ideally, there is also time for prenatal discussion of the mother's expectations for her birthing experience. However, I have found that these prenatal discussions are nonessential; expectations and wishes change when a woman actually experiences the process of labor, and statistically just having a calm woman present in the delivery room reduces her need for pain medication by 31% (Klaus).

So in order to provide quality childbirth support to meet the complex needs of women and their families, I have created two Birth Service Packages:
